A Second Life
About ten years ago, Bofram delivered a truck body equipped with an Atlas truck-mounted crane to the Verstegen-Adam Transport Group. This company carries out specialized transport operations across Europe on a daily basis using a variety of trucks. As a result, the trucks are used intensively. A while ago, they approached us for a new truck body because the truck from 10 years ago was due for replacement. After discussing their requirements and inspecting the current truck, we concluded that the Atlas truck-mounted crane was still in excellent condition and could therefore be reused on the new truck.
Truck Body with Reused Components
With both trucks in our warehouse, we were able to thoroughly check whether the connections for the truck-mounted crane were the same so that it could be transferred seamlessly. After this inspection, the existing body was carefully dismantled, and the new truck was prepared for the body installation. Bofram fabricated an identical crane base for this purpose so that the Atlas truck-mounted crane could be mounted on the new truck. In this way, Bofram was once again able to deliver a high-quality truck body by reusing an Atlas truck-mounted crane.
